Management of the cultural landscape in the World Heritage Area in Vega municipality
The Vegaøyan World Heritage Foundation has financial resources available for management activities in the World Heritage Area. These funds are primarily intended for individuals who do not actively farm and do not receive agricultural production subsidies. For those who do receive such subsidies, funds managed by Vega municipality are applicable. There are also separate funds for protected areas; see the fact box in the application form.
Who can apply?
Private individuals, landowner associations, friends' associations, and enterprises in the World Heritage Area that do not have agriculture as their primary livelihood can apply.
What can support be applied for?
Support can be granted for various purposes; grazing, mowing, and investments related to management. Mowing of lawns around houses and cabins is not covered by the scheme. The same rates apply for mowing in grasslands (ordinary management) and grazing as for the subsidy scheme in Vega municipality.
Application deadline June 10
